Mitt første blogginnlegg noen sinne ;-) Hensikten med denne bloggen er å kunne dele både mine erfaringer og fagkunnskap som massasjeterapeut. Men først litt om min bakgrunnshistorie..... Jeg omskolerte meg til massasjeterapeut i 2011 og har tatt utdannelse i muskelterapi på Institutt for Helhetsmedisin. Uteksaminert i 2013. Jeg omskolerte meg etter å ha gått på en kraftig smell i 2009 som endte med 3 år med kronisk utmattelse. Før utmattelsen...Jeg tok Master of Science in marketing på BI. Første året på master ble jeg gravid med min datter. Fullførte masterstudiet på nominert tid, fikk jobb som key account manager og flyttet til Bergen. Jeg skulle gjøre karriere. Med en mann i Sjøforsvaret, et lite barn og til tider en krevende jobb med mye reising, var det ikke alltid like lett å få timeplanen til å gå opp. Jeg kan nok beskrives som en typisk "flink pike", hadde vanskeligheter for å si nei, påtok meg alltid mye ansvar og jobb, trente 6 dager i uken, var sosial og inviterte ofte til middager og sosiale sammenkomster. Alt skulle være så perfekt! Til slutt sa det stopp. Jeg var så utmattet at mitt immunforsvar brøt sammen. Var sengeliggende i 3 uker. Klarte knapt å gå til postkassen som var 30 meter fra inngangsdøren. Ettersom min mann var mye borte i forbindelse med jobb, var jeg mye alene med min datter som den gang var 4 år. En natt våknet jeg av at jeg nesten ikke hadde hørsel, hjertet kjentes ut som det skulle hoppe ut av kroppen, pulsen var skyhøy og panikkangsten tok overhånd. Jeg var alene med min datter og første tanke var at jeg overlever ikke denne natten. Frykten for at min datter skulle finne sin egen mor livløs i sengen ble altomfattende. Jeg fikk ringt min mann som kom hjem 4 timer senere. Dette var starten på 3 år med oppturer og nedturer om hverandre i en runddans av depresjoner/angst, glede, sorger, null energi, litt energi, store muskelsmerter i hele kroppen og mangel på kunnskap fra leger om hva som feilte meg. Jeg skjønte raskt at jeg var den eneste som kunne hjelpe meg selv og startet å søke etter informasjon om hva dette kunne være. 6 måneder etter første kollaps fikk jeg diagnosen psykisk overbelastning og utbrenthet. I 2010 var jeg på 4 ukers rehabilitering på AIR på Rauland. Der fikk jeg kunnskap, lære meg selv å kjenne, stressmestringsverktøy og en handlingsplan på hvordan jeg skulle komme meg tilbake til jobb. Med ny iver og pågangsmot startet jeg i redusert stilling på min gamle arbeidsplass ett år etter kollapsen. Etter 3 måneder var jeg syk igjen, dog ikke fult så ille som første gangen. Takket være min fantastiske konsulent i Nav fikk jeg beskjed om å si opp på dagen med full stønad fra første sykedag. Da startet min prosess med å tenke nytt. Jeg fikk meget god hjelp av en muskelterapeut for mine muskulære smerter. Hun lærte meg sammenhengen mellom min kollaps og mine muskler. Interessen ble stor for hennes fagfelt og trangen til å få hjelpe andre mennesker på samme måte som hun hjalp meg ble stor. Jeg søkte om omskolering hos Nav, og etter 3 måneder i attføringsbedrift, testing av min arbeidskapasitet etc. fikk jeg gjennomslag for søknaden og begynte min nye reise som massasjeterapeut. Så her er jeg...6 år etter....Det har vært en tøff reise, men jeg ville ikke vært den uten. Jeg har lært meg selv å kjenne og kan trygt si at "flink pike"-syndromet er borte for alltid. Jeg har lært meg å lytte til kroppen. Jeg har fortsatt store muskulære plager som jeg holder i sjakk ved trening, tøying, behandlinger og meditasjon. Jeg trener når kroppen er klar for det. Er jeg veldig sliten legger jeg ikke ut på en times joggetur, men velger heller en gåtur i skogen. De dager jeg har mer energi velger jeg heller en hardere treningsøkt. Men jeg vet også at dersom jeg skal på et arrangement, fest eller jobb klarer ikke kroppen min å gjennomføre en hard treningsøkt i tillegg til det andre jeg har på agendaen den dagen. Så hver dag må jeg velge med omhu. Jeg bruker flere hjelpemidler for å holde meg i sjakk. Mindfull meditasjon er en av de viktigste! 10 min om dagen holder for meg. I stressende perioder må jeg gjerne gjøre mer. I slike perioder går jeg også til Reki healing for å få hjelpe til energiblokkeringer som gjerne hoper seg opp når kroppen blir stresset. I tillegg må jeg som mine pasienter få hjelpe til musklene. Derfor går jeg regelmessig til massasje og litt til min gode kiropraktorkollega ved behov. Husk at kropp og sinn henger nøye sammen. En evig tankestrøm kan gi utslag i stressede og stive muskler. Husk også at vi er ikke maskiner. Vi kan ikke klare alt. Vi må gi oss tid til å stoppe opp, puste, reflektere og velge våre kamper med omhu. Gi deg selv tid til bare deg. Støvsugingen kan vente til i morgen ;-) Hilsen massasjeterapeut Lene Friberg
